Big team effort puts Massey away

The breakdown from Ash.

This weeks game could have been a bit of a banana skin for the boys after such a comprehensive victory over Silverdale the week before but what we got was another dominant team display which Pat & I were happy to see. We are enjoying seeing the boys increasingly displaying rugby maturity as a team, working to a game plan and being to adapt as it unfolds. Our physicality & skills are making us a difficult team to play against. In slippery conditions we controlled play well and repeatedly got over the gain line forcing Massey to compress which then created gaps we took advantage off. Our supporters will all know that the boys love to run at our opposition, but an area we are making good progress in is our defence. For me for the boys to hold Massey scoreless was more important than the 56 points we scored. To hold a team out when they had periods of sustained attack was reward for all the hard work we have been putting in at training. Well done boys, I hope you’re enjoying the great rugby you are playing. We certainly are.
