Boys put it all togther to win the final game

With our last game of the season at home and plenty to play, for the boys took it to ECB from the get go.

Line speed, first up tackles and plenty of pressure was the foundation of the defensive effort which placed ECB under the pump on a number of occasions. On attack, the boys ran the ball back hard at them and linked up on a number of occasions. Jack Tiplady’s cover at full back was impressive, as he dealt with ECB’s kicking out of their danger zone. The backs used the blind to find space and Jackson found even more room with his chip kicks towards our line.

For the forwards, one of the best moments in the game was successful Bacon Pack line out call, which we have practiced all year. The resulting maul and drive, with a loosie off the back resulted in an excellent try.

There was a striking difference between the teams regarding discipline, with ECB boys not able to contain themselves as the pressure came on.  I’m proud to say our boys played excellent tough uncompromising rugby, while conducted themselves in a fantastic sporting manner.

Overall I believe it was our best performance of the year and an excellent way to finish off the season and say goodbye to the players who are leaving us this season.
