Well boys – This one hurts. After such a great outing against Marist a few weeks ago where we completely dominated all aspects of the game, Saturdays game against Northcote should be remembered as the game that got away. That’s the thing about competitive sport. Some days we will meet teams we are better than and it will almost feel easy and then we will come up against teams just as talented, just as good, just as competitive, and just as hungry to win. The lesson for us boys is to learn that you don’t have to play your best every game to win – you actually only need to play better than your opponent. So the trick for us is learning to rise to another level when the opposition is playing well and trust that we have trained for this. Sport is supposed to be hard. At times it will be physically demanding, and it will test our skills and capability. That is why it’s a competition. If you expect it to be hard, then there will be no surprises.
Three to go – so let’s bounce back. Ash
